I focus on showing students why a correct answer is correct and guide them with questions so that they can cultivate the correct answer on their own. I learned the importance of building rapport and tailoring my tutoring approach to match students’ learning styles. Graduated the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a Spanish minor. During my time at UT I tutored peers in introductory college courses such as physics, calculus, and chemistry and proctored a dormitory as a resident adviser. My experience as a team leader in company-sponsored design projects has taught me the importance of certain skills such as writing, presenting, delegating, and note-taking when pursuing engineering or other science related careers. Recently, I have pursued my passion of teaching by acquiring my teacher certification in high school science.
