As a graduate student working towards earning my Master's in Education, I presently observe and do field research studies with students at the elementary age. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree which has enabled me to gain in depth experience and comprehension in mathematics. I am a student that has a drive of excellence. I graduated from Northern Ill. Univ in 2010, as cum laude. I hold a B.S. in BioChemistry. I have experience as a tutor, which I obtained while as a student at NIU. I would tutor other students with in the chemistry, math, and biology departments.
I love teaching. I us a guiding method of teaching. Because I believe that students learn the most when they do the work themselves, but sometimes they need someone there to motivate them or to guide them in the right direction. While earning my degrees, I was inducted into a honor society with emphasis on helping the engineering students in our department in several way. Our focus was working with companies for future jobs and offering free tutoring every week for all computer and electrical engineering courses that were junior level and below. For 3 years I was apart of the tutoring while juggling my course load which also included a great deal of mathematics. My degrees required all three levels of Calculus, but I also completed additional calculus classes beyond those requirements.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught one semester of College Algebra at Illinois State University. I was responsible for 2 sections of lab while I completed graduate credits for a Master's in Mathematics. My B.S. in actuarial science (math) was attained from Bradley University. Also, I've been a youth minister at the local church for a year and half now and have formed a large group consisting of junior high and high school students.

I have worked in ICC's mathlab since fall 2008, tutoring all kinds of math ranging from elementary Algebra and Geometry to Calculus, though I do not do statistics. I can also tutor Discrete Math, a subject about logic, math puzzles, algorithms and computational concepts. I am an active member of the Association of Mathematics Engineering and Science Students, a club that promotes group work and student tutoring. I grew up in China and lived there for 16 years before I came to US for college education. I can speak, read and write Chinese fluently.
