A Little Bit About Me...

I began working in the field of education nearly 4 years ago. I began to substitute and found that I enjoyed working with high school aged students. I was always great in math so that became my subject of choice. I worked hard to develop lessons that would be both challenging and interesting for the students. After my first year as a long-term Algebra I substitute teacher I knew that I had found my life’s calling. I had a passion for teaching and my career as an educator was truly beginning to evolve. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very motivating person and tend to use humor as a method of teaching. I teach to and with the child and never down to him/her. I break large components into their simplest forms so that a child learns to take things one step at a time and not feel overwhelmed. I make the learning relevant to what the child is interested in or knows about so that he/she can be more engaged in the learning process. We set the goal-a reasonable one yet with high expectations and together we achieve it.
For the past ten years, I have been teaching High School English. I have taught grades 9-12 in Literature, Composition and Standards of Learning in preparation for the state exams. During high school I took AP History and Government and past the AP Exam. I enjoy studying for Test Prep and enjoy helping students achieve their goals.
