A Little Bit About Me...

My main goal is to provide students with tools that will advance them personally and professionally. To achieve this, students need to understand how they learn effectively. As a tutor I will help students determine their learning style(s) and focus my efforts through this style(s). A second component of successful learning is subject relevance. I will find the connection to the bigger picture to help motivate student learning. Lastly, I believe students need to think independently. I will encourage critical and independent thinking by fostering an approach where students have to apply what they have been taught. As such, I believe that answers should not always be readily given so as to challenge students to reach conclusions on their own.
