I have always been excited to help others succeed. I have a young daughter myself, so I am very interested in early childhood development. I fully comprehend that there are many different learning styles and am capable of adapting my teaching methods to meet those of you or your child.
I have been out of college, working in the IT industry for about 8 years now. While in college, I tutored fellow students in the school's lab in the subjects of English and Mathematics. As a Communication major at College of Charleston, the majority of my undergraduate assessment was research papers, essays, and writing exams. My grammar and writing skills have been far above average throughout my academic career. During the last three years since graduation, I have spent fifteen months teaching English as a Second Language at Chinese secondary schools. I have been an educator for 5 years in the public school system. I tutored through college and while I was getting my masters degree. I have taught from grades ranging from 2nd- 10th grade. I have tutored elementary students during my tenure in the Air Force on a volunterr basis. I worked as a Introduction to Computers instructor at Keiser College for two semesters. I have a fascination with math and numbers. My extensive experience with budgeting and using spreadsheets and formulas has kept me fresh with my math skills. I recently tutored a 50+ adult to take a math skills test for the CRC. He passed, and was had such a sense of accomplishment, after almost giving up hope that he could pass it.
