A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved in higher education since my 2nd year of college. I also have been involved in helping local elementary, junior high, and high school students in the areas of the sciences, computer technology, and math. I would have taught high school but I found higher ed to be more interesting. I have a BS in Biology with a minor in Computer Science. I also have a M.Ed. in Education Administration and Supervision with 17 graduate hours of Biology. As a college administrator, I have tutored many students in the areas listed above as well as worked with students on their writing skills.

More About This Tutor...

I am a visual learner and I have found that most other people are too. This means that it is important to understand concepts behind each topic were learning. For example, a topic that I had to explain a couple weeks ago was "renal physiology". I believed it was important for the student to understand that water is re-absorbed in all the spots that aldosterone acts, not just memorize where water is re-absorbed. Although, it is important to learn the skills of repetition also. I like to ask questions after we go over topics to make sure that the student is gaining understanding of the topic. Each topic should be reviewed 3 times before an exam.
