I hold a bachelor's of arts with a major in history and a minor in political science from Youngstown State University. I am currently completing a Masters of Education with a licensure in AYA Social Studies from the University of Akron. I am a recent college graduate and I am looking for employment within my field. I have two years experience tutoring an elementary student. I worked with a student in second grade and tutored her in both Math and English. Because her mother and I communicated regularly, she was able to tell me of improvements and areas of subjects that needed more attention. It is also necessary to understand how a person perceives, rationalizes and applies information, as every person is different in this process. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. I enjoy teaching and couldn't see myself doing much else.
