I would describe my teaching style as learning by doing and not learning by lecture. I like the structure and logic of Math. I have always enjoyed helping students grasp concepts that can be utilized in the sciences.
I have taught math for thirty five (35) years at Lexington high school. Because I enjoy the learning environment and have been in one for 16 years, I have learned much about it. More About This Tutor...

I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. I enjoy teaching and couldn't see myself doing much else.

I fully love my architecture career, but I have never lost my love for math and science! Every day I use basic math, geometry, and even physics (to calculate structural components). I am forced to design creative solutions and think outside the box. I hold a 4 year BS and a 5 year Bachelor of Architecture, and I have tutored on and off over the years.
