An intellectual and goofy tutor looking to help out.

I always liked playing up my quirky personality. My favorite teachers and professors were the goofy ones, the ones who can relate to the students' fun side. These teachers also challenged me the most, and I ended up getting so much more out of the course. I figure that, if a student likes the teacher, he or she will pay more attention and have a deeper respect for the teacher. The teacher then can use this trust to push the student a little more, intellectually. I find that is what works best for me.
I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. However, my friends were struggling. They hated me a bit for how easy it came to me. I decided to tutor them and help them with homework assignments and studying. They ended up doing very well on the ... read more

Life Science is one of my top subjects!

I try to help students overcome their mental block about chemistry. Before a session begins, I like to determine a student's level of competency in the subject. Short quiz or maybe I'll ask you a few questions on the basics and then go from there.I help students learn concepts and don't really stress on memorization at first (but in organic chem memorization is important). Learning concepts helps one memorize equations and reactions better! Then, I show students how to "APPLY" those concepts to solve problems on their tests. With practice, this training helps them to get over their fear; focus on questions and solve problems like you would solve puzzles!!
Tutored friends and classmates for general chem, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry for tests and finals. Most students I taught were B and C grade students trying to get into med school. They received A grades on their ... read more

Bilingual, Spanish/English, Tutor

My style is hands on and practical. I feel it is important for my students to understand how they can apply what they learn to real life and teach them how to problem solve when they are in difficult situations. In addition, I am very personable and I work hard to help my student achieve their goals.
I am responsible for professional development of teachers seeking ESL certification, train principals on bilingual/ESL requirements and work as an instructional coach to teachers. In addition, I provide English classes for adults in my district. In order to aid my teachers and help them keep up with the changing needs of our students, I am always researching for the most updated information in order for them to be knowledgeable on what is going on outside the school. It is important to me that I provide teachers, students and partners the best education possible.

Learning is fun!

I have over ten years of teaching. I have taught ELA,Reading comp, math, science at all levels. I have taught in public schools, private schools, charter schools and at post-secondary institutions. Every person learns a bit differently. Personally, I find that an individual’s feeling and attitude about subjects such as mathematics and physics can greatly impact a student's success than any other factor.I aspire to help students see how fun (and actually quite addictive) math and mathematical sciences really are. If it can become fun, it is no longer “work”. I use many analogies. Obtaining a strong conceptual understanding about a topic makes the "problem" part easier to understand and retain. It also reduces frustration. I really love to see someone's face light up... when "it clicks", and there is understanding.
I have a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics.I am a very experienced private math tutor. During my 2nd undergraduate year at TSU, I began to teach physics labs. Initially,I taught "general" physics 1 and 2 lab sections,(those for science majors; excluduing ... read more

I love children and like to do my best for them. I am so patient and love teaching, blieving that all children can get their education needs according to very simple but fine adjustment to the teaching process.
I was teaching Mathematics/calculus Physics and Biology for ten years, until Immigration to the US. most of my experience was in private schools covering the official curriculum to help students overcome their difficulties in their regular schools and prepare them for their tests. Although the teaching language was Arabic, but my control of English as well as the fact that all text books are in English, I am confident that I will do a good and enjoiable job
