A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelors in English from Dominican University. I began A Plus Master Tutoring Center over 4 years ago and was teaching in my home. Now we have expanded to a center in Oak Park and we tutor all ages, from Pre-K to adults. Our subjects range from phonics to algebra. Our teaching styles vary from a 3:1 ratio, which would include up to three students and one tutor, or a 1:1 ratio which would be a private session with a student and a tutor. Session prices range from $25-$27 depending on the type of session. We pride ourselves in being an affordable tutoring center compared with the prices of Huntington and Sylvan learning centers. My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : Having the Common Core State Standards, we have specific areas at each grade level. Having said that, students will need to learn the Next Generation Science Standards as it is being implemented.

Over 16 years, I have taught various subjects for students with hearing impairments. I also have experience in teaching students with multiple disabilities as well. I have had experience in teaching an after school program with students who needed assistance in learning. In addition, I have taught American Sign Language classes to parents. I have taken many AP or honors classes/courses in these subjects. I am fluent in French and have lived in Quebec for years, making French my first language.
