I am very passionate about teaching. I am a very hands-on type of teacher that really likes to get the student involved in their learning. I like to set goals for learning, but also find it important for students to set their own goals as well. I believe that all children can learn, no matter what. It is just my job as a teacher to be able to help figure out their best way to learn as well as bring those resources to that student for their success.
I graduated National-Louis University with a 3.7 GPA, and am also in the Kappa Delta Pi honors society for teaching. I have had many years of experience in the classroom, and with many different programs. I also have tutored previously for Sylvan tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a Special Education Teacher since 1998 and have most enjoyed and excelled with students through teaching reading skills. I have exceptional skills in motivating students to learn how to read. I passed the Reading Teacher Certification Test in November and am waiting for my official certificate with Reading Teacher added. I have 7 1/2 years of teaching special education in Illinois and Missouri.I am an IL certified Reading Teacher. I have been volunteer tutoring literacy students for the Springfield and Cantrall School Districts.
My goal is to enhance the knowledge of children through the implementation of their best learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or tactile) and to motivate the students to pursue further learning and personal experience in the topic we are studying.
