This week I am graduating Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy NY with a degree in computer and systems engineering. It's impossible to build a house on a poor foundation and I believe in establishing strong, fundamental skills of drawing and painting first. These basic skills then allow a student to branch out according to their individual interests, from cartooning to design to landscape painting and on and on. I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.
