Algebra I is one of my top subjects! I have specific teaching experience with Algebra I. I believe Algebra I is the foundational course for all other mathematics. It is even used in Geometry. Because I was certified to teach Algebra I in the state of Virginia, I could have probably called myself an expert. Others (students and teachers)have said that I make math easy to understand. Still, I believe there is always more to learn, so I will just call myself "experienced," instead. There are many people who know math, and are incredibly smart, but have no (or very limited) ability to help others learn what they know. I'm not one of those. My strength is facilitating the learning of others. I am flexible and can come at topics different ways, because I only teach what I thoroughly understand.

I completed roughly 300 college credits, so I know how to succeed in school. I taught math for a year-and-a-half in public schools. As part of my teaching, I have spent countless hours tutoring after school.
I prefer to be a facilitator. I believe in the "give a man a fish and you feed him for one day, teach the man how to fish and you feed for a lifetime." I usually start with a diagnostic test to concentrate on weaker areas then come up with a weekly plan focusing on those areas. After a lesson, I usually give worksheets and sometimes online exercises, depending on the subject, and use videos and games if applicable.
