As a high school student and college graduate, I have lived through the education process and hope to share that experience with students. My teaching style is focused on student achievement. Many parents complain that their child does poorly on tests. This is often a result of inadequate teaching practices which fail to recognize individual learning differences in students. My goal in teaching is to individualize the learning process for each student, so that the student understands and retains knowledge and is able to explain what they learned. I began tutoring K through 5th graders at an elementary school. Many of my students only spoke Spanish at home. From then, I continued tutoring elementary school students with a wide range of abilities. A few of my students were gifted, and we worked on sharpening their already existing skills.
