A Little Bit About Me...
I integrate as many subjects as possible and seek to provide the missing schema, background experience and knowledge, that is critical to learning to a true state of understanding and mastery. Every subject is interesting to a child who can understand it and apply it. Through an understanding of social styles, learning styles,multiple intelligences and the best of brain-based research, I provide that experience to every student.
My last class was a self-contained 6th grade, with a 34% ELL and 14% special education population. My class average reading level rose from 4.6 to 7.1. Of all the students in the school who surpassed the required State testing and higher District goals in both reading and math, 75% came from my class, as did the winners of the school's essay contest, spelling bee and geography competition.
