I'm Here to Help!!!

I have often thought about becoming a teacher and have been told by friends, families and previous instructors in my own learning I would make a good one but I feel my personality would be better served in a more laid back and less rigid atmosphere. I am very laid back, amiable and have a strong passion for what I've learned and what I do (the whole aspiring writer thing I mentioned earlier).
I am a twenty eighty year old graduate of the University at Albany where I received my Bachelors in English Lit. in 2011. Most of my career has been spent at IBM, where I built on my Physics background for a broad range of opportunities. I am now seeking to move into a teaching career and plan to start a Masters in Teaching in the Fall of 2009. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience as a teacher has nurtured within me a deep respect for children as thinkers, and ultimately "real" people. In my position at Spence's Farm, I was responsible for a group of 5-8 year olds. I encourage students to bring reading materials that peek their interest to help them enjoy while learning. For some students that would be fiction, for others it's a game manual. The idea is to start where the child's curiosity lays and move from there into the required readings.
