Chemistry is one of my top subjects!

I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Therefore, I will be able to communicate with m y students better and help them excel in studies and eliminate their weak points in any subject. I have no teaching style since I believe that to succeed one needs to seriously study and teach and cover your weakest subjects first.

A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style as "facilitator" considering the fact that I am able to come up with questions that lead the students to finding the correct process and answers on their own.
During high school I tutored at an elementary school during two summers for over 300 hours. From January-April 2013 I tutored the AVID program for 17.5 hours a week for all grade levels. I majored in Biochemistry and Pharmacology at the UNAM in Mexico City. I never give up on a child or an adult. I recently tutored a law enforcement official to help him understand and pass algebra. He didn't think anyone could help him. The schools told me my son would never learn to read or write. He is my only child out of four who reads lengthy books for pleasure. Everyone has a different style of learning. My teaching methods I alter to suit those needs. I spent three years trying to help my dyslexic son learn to read one sentence. I have patience and I love helping people. Having been educated at a liberal arts school has also given me the opportunity to study philosophy and sociology. I also write well, as writing is emphasized in all disciplines of study at Knox. The most important part of teaching is to teach students the principle or concept behind a subject. I do not believe in making students memorize absurdly large lists of facts in order to pass a test. A Little Bit About Me...

Personally, I enjoy everything about education. I believe that if you can educate a person, then doors are opened for them. I am the type of tutor that gives basic instructions, then I allow the student to try a few things on their own. If they struggle, then I will step in and help them. I prefer to go over the same material as much as needed until the student is comfortable with the subject matter. Then, I like to move on to a new subject.
In relation to the tutoring position, I have a year of experience in tutoring grammar school students in math and reading. As a graduate student at Mississppi State University, I was a teacher assistant for 2 years in Introduction to World Geography. These are the only two jobs I have had that are related to job that I am applying for.
