I fell that once I get back into communicating normally I will fell comfortable clicking the Experienced or Expert Proficiency box.

When I was small I fell in love with American Sign Language, scene then I have been studying and going to school to learn more about this amazing language and culture. A Little Bit About Me...

Hello, I have been a teacher in central Florida for 6 years. I have always taught at the middle school leve, although my student teaching was done at the High school level. Prior to becoming a teacher I served 5 years in the U.S. Navy. I have also worked with Juinor Acheivement and the Boys and Girls club of America.
My belief is in the child. I am extremely patient and loving. The child sets the pace at which we learn and we would not move on to the next subject until the child completely understands the material.

Throughout my years of tutoring I have found that there are many different ways that people learn. Once you figure this out learning is easy and enjoyable. I first go over what my students have been doing to learn and study the material. Once we have established their individual learning style, we go over what they can do to improve in that subject and perhaps with the overall learning of any material. I want my students to feel comfortable with the material, to understand it on many levels, not just to memorize the information. I strive to annihilate the fear students’ feel of any subject they know little about or have problems understanding. I want to make a difference in how people learn and how they feel about learning difficult or different materials.

My passion is to work with children. All children are different, therefore each child learns differently and at one's own pace. My goal is to help each child improve in the appointed subject. I use a collaborative method of teaching; keeping it content- and student-centered. However, I maintain organization and facilitation, while adjusting my approach so it adapts to each individual. Keeping it student-centered allows the student to recognize one's own needs and set goals for his or her own self. Each child is able to reach for their higher self, with the help from the right individual.

I earned my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. During college, I tutored a 3rd grade student for one year. Since then, I taught 2nd grade at Heathrow Elementary. I have both tutoring experience and classroom experience. I have volunteered with many different grade levels from Pre-K through 5.
I have always wanted to be a teacher, ever since I was in Kindergarten. Every year I would "take notes" from my classroom teacher and think to myself, "I could do that in my classroom." I have a passion for teaching children. When I see that light bulb hovering above their head, it really makes all the hard work worth it. I am persistent, yet calm during teaching. I stick to the procedures, and let the student find the right path to discovery. I believe that each child wants to learn and grow; they only need to be shown the path to ac ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and being part of a team that is educating the future leaders of America. Each student is different and has a different, unique way of learning and I enjoy finding out what works and implementing strategies.I help them set a goal they would like to achieve within the next month, one year, and five years, and I help them earn and work towards achieving those goals. I believe each student is able to succeed to the best of their ability, and as an educator we need to determine what level a student is at, and apply strategies and academics with areas including their interests as well as thir ability to understand. Each lesson may need modification, but the outcome will be the same for all students; success.

I truly believe that students can learn given the proper conditions. Some students learn slower than others so it is important to provide them with the strategies to ensure better chances of success. I try to implement student success strategies throughout any course I teach. For example, showing students how to be organized is a key factor for success. In addition I try to instill confidence in students, which can increase their chances for success. While doing all those things, I believe in the constructivist approach to learning by drawing connections to previous learned information. These are some of the methods I use to ensure success.
