I recently graduated from Montclair State University in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in management. I have experience substitute teaching a wide variety of subjects at the elementary and high school level. I also have experience working with students with special needs such as ADD/ADHD, school phobia, and other behavioral issues. As a recent graduate still trying to plan a career path I look forward to hearing and working with you!
Other than having a lot of patience, I don't have a very specific style of teaching. Everyone learns in a different manner, so I try to take this into account on a case by case basis. My specific style of teaching, especially for the 8th grade, is to read the current book being used, and then present my lesson with lecture, interactive discussion and comprehension, based on the age and grade of the student. I like to put the lesson into terms that the age group can relate to, and then assign a memory technique that will teach the students to recall the proper answer by using the examples we have discussed in class.
