I have a BS in psychology with a minor in biology from the University of Illinois. My focus has been on medicine and science, working in adult medical education for over 12 years. I owned a medical education company for five years, working with physicians who would be considered the top two percent in their fields in the world. We developed curriculum for doctors, pharmacists and nurses to teach them about new drugs and new research, all with the hope of improving patient care. I love teaching and working with children and adults alike. Everyone can learn; it is up to the teachers to find out how their students learn best. I was 14 years old when my younger brother was born, so I had the wonderful opportunity to learn firsthand that teaching requires a great deal of patience, knowledge, and flexibility. As an undergraduate I majored in English and also completed the secondary education program. I completed my student teaching assignment at a local high school in Colorado Springs and taught remedial English to students who had failed the class at least once prior. I then went to graduate school and earned my MA in English and entered the corporate world of education and training.
