A Little Bit About Me...

I have more than 5 years experience as a substitute teacher at almost every level. I have had the opportunity to also serve as a long term substitute teacher. I also have 1 year of experience teaching at a pre-school level, 2.5 years teaching at a post-secondary level, and a semester of tutoring a middle school student. I have also taken course work in Differentiated Instruction. All of these experiences have given me the skills needed to be a successful teacher. Teaching at several levels allows me to adapt my teaching to the learning level of the student. I prefer one on one settings for teaching, but I have no problem standing in front of people. I use my work experience to apply what the student has learned in the classroom and instruct them how the subject is applied in today's work force. I am able to give instructions and address feedback when applicable. Although I have not taught in a formal classroom, I have held numerous professional meetings in the past for previous employers. I have always received compliments as to how approachable I am and how helpful and competent I am regarding the subject at hand. Children tend to respond to someone who is fun and friendly, instead of a person who chooses not to connect with students in this way.
