I believe everyone has their own aptitude for learning and will endeavor to discover each childs unique style for learning to help them strive to do their best in each endeavor they apply themselves to. My goal is to provide the best education possible and work with their own unique personalities on how to get them there. My parents and educators were a big factor in my life growing up and I hope to pass along some of that insight, knowledge and passion for learning that they taught me. I have grown up in an education oriented household with both parents as teachers (Dad Chemistry and Mom English). Since earing my degree in CIS I have had 10 years of industry experience as well as having worked as a substitute teacher in both the Galesburg (CUSD #205, 200-2001) and Peoria (District 150,2007-Present) School Districts.

As a college student, I understand the importance of learning and experiencing new things daily. I am earning my BS in Business Administration and have gained an understanding in many areas of computer technology, arithmetic, English, and science. As an older sister, I have helped tutor my younger sister in mathematics, sciences, and arithmetic. I have a love for teaching with younger children. I truly believe that every child can learn, whatever thier circumstance. I am very outgoing, loving, and cosiderate. I graduated from Illinois State University in 2009 with a BS in Biological Sciences and I am currently working towards my certificate in teaching secondary education. I have experience teaching in lab settings, community college classrooms as well as tutoring at the high school and middle school level. I am passionate about Biology and have a lot of fun teaching it. I aim to make studying biology interesting to students and hopefully fun for them too. I have had practical experience working as a microbiology level I technician for a major pharmaceutical company. My primary duties included many of the bench chemistry and laboratory biology techniques from college. I have completed one year of post bachelor's education at Illinois State University and am currently one semester shy of obtaining my type 09 high school teaching certification. While at ISU, I was a graduate level teaching assistant and was responsible for teaching several lab sections of Biology 101. I have documented over 100 clinical hours in a high school setting and am currently serving as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard.
