A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a teacher with CPS for four years. I am currently a Special Education teacher for grades K-5. I teach a caseload of 33 students ranging in abilities. I have a significant amount of experience teaching reading, math, and writing to struggling learners. In addition to working with students that have disabilities, I also have a degree in Elementary Education. I teach regular education students within my intervention groups throughout my school day. I teach with multiple strategies to best fit the needs of the learner. I also have quite a bit of experience in teaching with technology (smartboards, iPads, apple tv, doc cam, etc)

I have been substitute teaching for four years for all grades and all subjects. I have been tutoring in my home for two years all grades in mainly mathematics. I have trained students in cognitive thinking skills at Learning RX for 2 years. I have three children of my own, two in college and one is a senior in high school. I was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years and I have worked with my children in of all their subjects. I earned my AS in Mathematics in 2003 and my BS in Secondary Education in 2006.
