After my training in graduate studies, I have come to believe in heuristics method of teaching. When considering my teaching style, it is difficult to explain a single process for teaching. When working with different people it is important to remain creative, inventive, and patient. Every person has different learning styles and it is important to recognize in that person what helps them understand more fully. Whether it is diagram and pictures, breaking a complex problem into many simple parts, comparing similar examples that are familiar to the person, or simply taking the time to make sure that the child feels comfortable saying "I don't know". All of these are useful tools, but in my opinion by far the most important is patience. Remaining patient when someone doesn't understand is the absolute most important thing. I have had extensive education in Math and Physics through college and graduate school. I worked as research scientist for 14 years after graduating from school. In the past seven years, I have been working with children with learning disabilities (autism, etc).
