I have been a guest teacher in several school districts over the years off andd on. Since I worked in Telecommunications most of my life, I worked occasionally for agencies that assign guest teachers to different schools daily. In my current degree program, I write extensively on various topics such as human development and leadership. I have tutored before in basic math and basic algebra as well as english.
My teaching style is interactive. I like to give students a chance to apply what they have learned in groups or aloud amid classroom peers. Each student is different and might require more assistance than others, so in practice, the more the student works at a problem the better he/she becomes. In some cases remediation could be in order and if so, take home practice work could be in order.

Many people have different teaching skills and techniques. I do not believe any technique to educate a child is better than any other technique. Each child learns differently. Understanding the fact that children learn differently is crucial. The teacher must be able to adapt to the child's learning style. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style.
