I have successfully completed a Beacon tutor course in preparation for individual and group tutor sessions. I led a semester long Beacon tutoring supplement course in Organic Chemistry that supported 20 junior college students. I have effectively tutored/mentored a number of high school students in general education coursework, organizational skills, and in preparation for exit examinations. A Little Bit About Me...

I have never been someone who "just gets it" when it comes to math or science, and so I understand more than many people who pursued degrees in these subjects just how puzzling they can be. Math seems like it is filled with "tricks" that seem impossible to know unless you were born with some innate gift. When I teach, I seek to show, step-by-step. how to think about a problem as more than a set of symbols on paper.
