I spend much of time making the student understand that it is okay to feel behind in a subject and that the student should believe in himself. This belief is built on continued practice on fundamentals that I watch them go through but only ask questions when I see them going astray. Everyone needs to learn the material for his or herself. Summer Math Tutor

In high school, I was frequently the one that people came to for help. It was then that I realized I was extremely good at teaching. My senior year, I spent all day helping four different math teachers, one of which was frequently absent. In order to keep her class from falling behind, she had me make notes and go over practice problems with her classes. After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000. We then moved to Wisconsin where I taught in various after school programs until my 2 children were old enough for preschool. I then went back part time and taught 4 K until my 3rd child was born in 2005. Throughout this entire time I tutored various children ages 8 - 15 years if age.
My teaching style can best be described as varied!
