A Little Bit About Me...

I have been providing tutorial services for more than 10 years. My first tutorial assignment was at Edgecombe Community College in 1993. I worked one-on-one with students that were having difficulty in College Mathematics, Computer Technology, and Chemistry. Within the same year I also worked at Nash Community College tutoring students in Electronics Technology and Mathematics. In 1999, I taught middle school math. Based on my college transcripts, which displayed my engineering math courses, I was immediately promoted to teaching high school mathematics. Most of the students I taught where underachievers, repeaters, or transfers from AP courses. I have taught high school English at SouthWest Edgecombe High School for the past two years. In addition to teaching the writing test to tenth grade students there, I also taught eleventh and twelfth graders. During the past three months, I have been working at South Central High School in Greenville as a long term substitute while waiting to move to Raleigh. There, I worked with students preparing for the SAT and in creative writing. I have tutored students in all subjects I teach, and throughout my college career, I tutored students in middle school language arts classes.
I believe that all students have the ability to learn. The key is that all students learn in different ways.
