I graduated high school in 2013 with a 3.87 CGPA. I am currently a full-time student at University of Illinois Springfield. I have taken college algebra, trigonometry, statistics, and quantitative reasoning. My final grades were A, A, B+, and A, respectively. I have also taken English 101 and 102 and received an A in both classes. I am very skilled in math and English, and I am also a musician (guitar, piano, and vocals) with knowledge of music theory and history. I have been teaching for more than fifteen years at the collegiate level and I have taught one year at the high school level. I also tutor students when I find students in need of extra assistance. I have worked in the insurance field for about fourteen years and worked in competitive environments in an actuarial department. I have also ran a small business for more than twelve years. I have a diverse number of experiences so that I can make mathematics practical and live for the student.
I am more of a hands on type of person and ask questions so that the student can explore and learn on their own. This will help them to be able to really learn the materials. I also cater my tutoring to the students involved.

As an undergraduate I majored in English and also completed the secondary education program. I completed my student teaching assignment at a local high school in Colorado Springs and taught remedial English to students who had failed the class at least once prior. I then went to graduate school and earned my MA in English and entered the corporate world of education and training. After graduating from college with a degree in English, I pursued a career in the corporate field. I did not find it satisfying and yearned to return to school to pursue a master's in education. I began substitute teaching in spring of 2007 and completed my student teaching in December 2007. I have been teaching English since I finished student teaching and have been a tutor at Sylvan for some time.
