I am a PhD student and college instructor and tutor with over 8 years of experience. I've taught from the elementary to college levels throughout my career. I'm trained in teaching language which includes all four competencies: listening, speaking, reading and writing. I specializing in teaching English (Composition and ESL), Spanish, Portuguese and French. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience in English spans 35 years. I recently retired from Macon State College and will continue to do part-time teaching at that institution. I enjoy all aspects of the profession and have a proven record of success as documented in my faculty portfolio. My experience includes essay writing, critical reading skills, grammar skills, and vocabulary enrichment. I look forward to continuing my passion for teaching through tutoring and mentoring students in the area.
I try to incorporate a variety of instructional methods, materials, and evaluations in my teaching style since no two students learn exactly the same way. Over my 35 years of classroom instruction, I have developed a number of techniques that are successful. I love to see kids learning a second language. I realise today in the states there is such much more job opporuntities when you have a second language. I make my own classroom a fun learning experience. I try to make fun sayings and even songs so the kids can relate to the words or sentences I am trying to teach them. I like to tell my own personal experiences of my life growing up in a country that speaks Spanish. I do a lot of group work so the kids can engage with one another to also help them learn off of each other. I believe when you make teaching a fun learning tool that kids will retain and hold onto it.
