I have worked quite a lot with elementary school children, whether it be in or outside of work. I have done independent tutor work, mainly in the fields of Art and Language Arts. In the past I had a long-term job in which I was required to interact with young children, and I did so willingly. For two years in a row, I taught a Beginner's Guitar course for children and the feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive. Many people have different teaching skills and techniques. I do not believe any technique to educate a child is better than any other technique. Each child learns differently. Understanding the fact that children learn differently is crucial. The teacher must be able to adapt to the child's learning style. I believe I have the ability to use an array of teaching styles to help children. I would enjoy the opportunity to help children learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am completing my degree in Elementary Education/Language Arts from Oakland University. I've spent countless hours in the classroom working with a variety of students. I have experience tutoring students in math and English. I have experience tutoring cognitively impaired students as well. I recently discovered alternate ways to teach math. I have learned the importance of using manipulatives to teach math concepts and believe that a hands-on approach to not only math, but every subject increases the students abilitiy to retain the information.
