I have an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor in Psychology. I have tutored young kids for 5 years and adults for a year. I also was a substitute French teacher for a year. I have studied French for 10 years now and lived in France a year ago. I lived about 2 hours southwest of Paris and went to a wonderful international university for students studying French. There were students from 25 different countries in my program and I lived with a host family, so I was always speaking French. I am not teacher certified yet, but I have taken all of the required French classes. I have one teaching class left and a semester of student teaching and then I will be a certified French teacher for grades K-12. Last year I tutored a high school freshman and a high school senior in French. This year, I also occasionally tutor and review French with an elderly lady. I will be certified to teach K-12. I don't believe in giving a student the answers to their questions. Rather, I think it is important to help them find the answers themselves--understanding the process will enable them to perform on their own. For example, rather than editing a student's paper, I will go through it line by line and have them help me find the errors. I have a very strong background in writing. My experience includes my graduate research and thesis, news writing for a tv station, in addition to 6 years of writing for academia.
