I am a graduate of Chowan University with a BA in Mathematics. While at Chowan I was one of the lead math tutors where I tutored college students in college algebra, intro to college algebra, applied calculus, and a few local high school students in geometry. I am very laid back, and I go over a lot of review to make sure the information is understood. I also will work with you if you can't meet on certain days, or if you have a busy schedule.
I love math! I have always gained a quick understanding of math, and have enjoyed it throughout my whole experience throughout school. I enjoy working with numbers. I took higher math courses in middle school, and when I completed Early College I was also taking higher math on the college side. I took pre-Calculus on the college side, and skipped over AFM.

In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.

My teaching style varies by the student. If the student learns fast and is persitent, I will move at a faster state, but if the student learns at a normal or a slower pace I will move at a rate in which the child will get the most out of the tutoring experience.

I started teaching in 1989. Not only I have tutored students on different grade levels, but also worked as a classroom teacher in grades Pre-k through High School. I have taught integrated math and algebra I & II. All of my students gave me a positive feedback. They understood the topic well and was able to pass assigned tests. I am more than capable of helping any student succeed. Teaching is my career and hobbie.
I use several teaching styles. Whatever works for that particular student. Some students are visual. They need to see what you are talking about. Others are good listeners; they can listen and learn. Some students need to do. All students need practice and I try to provide them with plenty of practice to ensure that they have mastered the topic.
