A Little Bit About Me...

Helping students be successful is the most important aspect of teaching, in my opinion. Each student is unique in his or her learning style. A teacher's job is to find the way in which a student learns best and to encourage them to think on their own. Students must think about and discover for themselves in order for learning to be truly meaningful. I am someone who will help guide a student in this direction.
I graduated with a BA from Willamette University with a major in history and minors in math and Spanish. I taught trigonometry as a teaching assistant at portland State University while a graduate student. I also taught at Chemeketa Community College as a supplemental instructor, holding group tutoring sessions for basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry, for classes that used these subjects as part of the course.
