When tutoring my goal is to have students arrive at the answer themselves with my guidance and support to make them feel confident and capable with the material when they are by themselves with the work. I will not give students the answers. I also like to provide tips and hints on how to effectively study and retain material. I like explain the problem to the students and then let them work on few problems on their own. I would then correct the problems that the students were working on and ask if they need any questions. If the students have questions or if they did not get the right answer I would then go over the problems together with the students and have them practice until they have the strategy down.
