My experience is principally in marine research. In such, I have taught at three universities. Most recently I have been giving scheduled seminars for several years. I am semi-retired. My science background is mult-disciplinary. I enjoy most teaching ecology (both marine and terrestrial), geology, biology, physics, and chemistry. I have worked in this field on the west coast for twenty years, and about fifteen on the east coast. My principal fields of work have been geo-physics, and population ecology. Most of my recent work has been in Chesapeake Bay.
I am energetic and involved. I am a strong believer in the use of visual and other aids. I feel the best teaching can occur when it is interactive. I am highly computer literate, and regularly interject this medium.

Teaching is a passion to me and I have a sense of accomplishment when I share or give back what I have been privilleged to acquire in my studies of sciences and math. I teach by example. For instance I will know that my students have understood when they perform a return demonstration.
