A Little Bit About Me...

I am an honors high school student and I have never made anything below a B in any class. My specialties are math and English, being that I receive the highest grade in the two subjects. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Improper grammar is a pet peeve of mine.

I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. I have assisted her with science and social studies projects. Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style.
Teaching brings me pleasure. What I do is to show them, help them, then have them do whatever I am teaching them to do. Sometimes one of the steps may have to be repeated, but this process really works well.

My comments on tutoring Grammar : I have 33 years experience as a high school English teacher and 2 years experience as a GED instructor. Grammar is a favorite area for me to teach.
