I have been working as a student worker at Blue River Community College for the past few years. I really enjoy being able to help students study and learn. I graduated with my Associates this year and am pursuing a teaching degree. I have also had experience with helping tutor the children of freinds and family. I am able to and have exerience working with ages from elementary school students all the way up to college students. I like to help students find out how they learn best by asking questions and through learning style tests. Everyone doesn't learn in the same way and by finding out the students learning style I like to then taylor how I help them learn based off how they will be able to retain the information best.

I homeschooled two children from preschool through 12th grade graduation and completion of high school. I have worked for two school districts for the past 6 years and currently work as a Behavior Interventionist in the Recovery Room for the Fort Osage School District. I love that "a ha!" moment when a student "gets it." I am skilled at rephrasing the information and using examples to help students see the information in different ways. As a teacher and parent of three children, I have experience in teaching and learning for every age group. I currently teach "at risk" students who are behind in their academic studies and this involves a lot of one-on-one tutoring to help them relearn materials they have missed. I have taught for eight years and have been in school settings with my children so am familiar with skills and academics at all levels.
