A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Miami University's College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a thematic sequence in Macroeconomics, I have the intellectual acumen to accommodate different types of students. Currently, I am a substitute teacher for Maumee City Schools and Rossford Exempted Village Schools on a 1 year short term substitute license from the state of Ohio. I also am a certified teacher with Sylvan Learning Schools. I have moved up the list in Maumee City Schools and I am regularly called in to substitute for grades K-12.
My teaching style is inclusive of the hands-on approach. I believe that all students should have equal access to education. My teaching style is not typical since I am not a certified teacher. I am creative in my teaching style using a variety of techniques. I understand that each child and person learns differently (Auditory, Visual, Tactile) so I try to discover their style and incorporate as much as possible. I try to teach using real life experiences and examples. I break things down into simple parts before moving on to the next level. I believe that it is important to instill confidence in the student which raises expectations and increases motivation. I am very patient with a good sense of humor.
