When teaching, I will be mindful of my position as a role model and the kind of learning I strive to promote of transformative learning among students. I embrace a unique passion for teaching children, especially for working with students on a one-on-one basis. I thrive on connecting with each student as an individual, and enhancing their academic lives in ways they may not get in other environments. I strive to "find" every child's gift, and celebrate it. I have worked mainly with children, but enjoy teaching all ages. I tend to take a systematic approach and keep my lessons structured. I like to have students keep some sort of record of their practice time, as well as their progress. I also am a strong believer in making learning fun, so I try to listen to my students' needs and pay attention to their learning styles so I can create activities that they will not only find educational but fun as well.
I began teaching at a very young age. I began my own music lesson company which taught basic level of piano, guitar, saxophone and voice lessons out of my house before I began high school. After achieving my certificate of proficiency in Spanish from Hamline I then began to also privately tutor Spanish. I also have earned my TEFL/TESOL certificate and will eventually go abroad and teach English overseas.
