My comments on tutoring Psychology : I have taught many AP Psychology courses.

I am a Social Studies teacher in the state of Pennsylvania. I graduated from an NCATE accredited university that has a rigorous education program. In that program, I was required to teach elementary students, middle school students, high school students, college students, and adult classes. I have been teaching for three years and tutoring for five years. I have taught multiple types of learners in multiple subjects with a significant amount of success.
I am a great speaker, and I can easily relate to my students. I push my students thoroughly to reach their objectives, because I do not believe there is anyone who cannot learn a subject. A Little Bit About Me...

I prefer to begin by having the student describe the current subject matter to the best of his/her abilities to determine a starting point. I have found that having the student talk through the subject matter can be useful in determining his/her strengths and level of understanding. I like to have the student work through some problems they have not been assigned from their book/notes so that they are able to practice and work through some other problems before attempting any assignments. I have also found that it is useful to go over any previous quizzes or tests related to the current subject matter as difficulties are sometimes related to previous work because with these subjects the work tends to build upon itself.

As an undergraduate I formally tutored fellow students in several subjects, including biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics (from basic algebra to calculus). As a graduate student, I mentored several undergraduate students in the laboratory. Some of these experiences culminated in presentations of data at national and international scientific conferences.
