While in attendance at the University of Arkansas, I earned two degrees, a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in American Studies. In addition to these degrees, I also earned a minor in History. My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught. I work with the individual but never let the focus off of the competition that's waiting. Students must understand that learning is an every day, every moment experience. It's all about how they see the world around them. I love teaching and working with children. The "aha" moment is what I live for. I have been working with the public for over 20 years, in that time I have worked with young adults as well as mature adults. I have also done some substitute teaching in elementary and high school levels. My experience is in food service and have dealt with many walks of life. I am a very committed member of Lincoln Kiwanis International as well as a member of the Central United Methodist Church. While I was a student at the University of Missouri I received a 5 hour A in Chemistry. All people can learn, you just have to find a way to make the student understand the information, if its hands on or reading or a combination of both.
