As an University of Iowa graduate I have always held education as a high value. I have dedicated my time to personally achieving excellence in education, as well as helping others do the same. My teaching experience has been primarily focused on elementary education, however I have tutored freshman in English and History. I have a degree in psychology from St. Ambrose in Davenport and finished my licensure at Ottawa University in Phoenix. I am certified to teach K-6 in Arizona and I have applied for Iowa certification.
Because of my elementary background, it is safe to say I am a very patient person and I use that skill in my ability. I allow the children to create their own paths and when there are roadblocks we work together to find a solution. I am not in the habit of giving students the answers. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
I'm a student at Augustana College whose academic record has ranged from public school to home schooling to community college and and even private education. I'm a strong believer in the Gardner's ideas of many different learning styles and types of intelligent. Some students are better audio, tactile, or visual learners.
