I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. I have been a substitute teacher in all grade levels in the Alexandria (VA) City Public Schools District for several years, and within that I have a great deal of experience with ELL and Special Ed students. I am currently a long-term sub for ELL students at the Juvenile Detention Center school, which has added value in connecting to challenged and struggling youngsters.
