I completed my BS degree in electrical engineering in 2007. While pursing that degree, I took coursework in Math (through Calc I-III, Differential Equations, and Linear Systems Analysis) Physics, and Chemistry. Following graduation I worked as a project engineer constructing and commissioning an oil refinery in southwest Asia. Among with my technical responsibilities, I participated in training future local operators via translator.
To begin, I have always loved science and working with numbers. I'm very patient when trying to explain a topic to someone. I believe the majority of problems with comprehension people have, especially in math/science, are due to an incomplete background or an unclear explanation. With time and effort, most anyone can learn just about anything, and participating in that is very satisfying.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and Master and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Being proficient in mathematics was and continues to be an integral part of working in engineering for me, and although this is fairly obvious, what I have discovered, through tutoring my own kids (currently 9th grade in high school, 7th grade in middle school and 5th grade in elementary school), is that devoting time to gain an understanding of the very basic material goes a very long way regardless of whether one is studying complex or simple mathematics. Students learn best from doing things. I try not to lecture, but to involve the student in the learning process. I can lecture, but I haven't found it to be as effective as other methods. I very much prefer tutoring to classroom teaching, mostly because I am helping people learn what they want to learn, and solve problems they are having troubles with.
