As ambitious a student in the classroom as in life I have completed over 180 college credits at age 24. With a preference in sciences most of these credits were completed however my interest expands far beyond the realm into most every subject. Proof of this is shown by the length of my undergraduate work, six years with enlightening pauses in between to broaden my mind through travel. Biology is my strong suit however math such as physics, calculus and even chemistry are heavily influenced in the major. At San Diego state I have completed the majority of these subject units. This institution is considered the number one small research university with a little help from students such as myself.

I have always enjoyed helping people learn, from dancing and sailing in my youth, to English and French more recently. For two years I was a tutor at a resource center at a city college, where I helped students on a one on one basis with reading and writing skills. I have tutored privately a number of clients in French, and I currently teach a French class at an after care program.
I love helping children learn in a way that's fun and supportive. I strongly engage my students in the process by asking questions and balancing the different learning styles (auditory, written, verbal, physical). A Little Bit About Me...

I am an Ivy League graduate with a BA in Classics. As an undergraduate, I studied Latin and ancient Greek, as well as classical and medieval history and literature. I have extensive experience in researching, writing and editing due to my own studies as well as reviewing the work of colleagues. I have two years experience teaching small classes and tutoring individuals.
I enjoy working with children because of their curiosity and forthrightness. Through exploration of the subject matter, I engage their curiosity while respecting their opinions and efforts. I am patient and work to establish a rapport with a child so that s/he is comfortable with me. This allows for a greater focus on the material to be studied. I know that every child can learn and progress, if given the tools to succeed.
