I have over seven years of experience in the field of teaching English, Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Grammar, Social Studies and Science. Not only am I a teacher within the public school system, but I am also a former adjunct teacher at a prominent state university in Mississippi where I gained experience in teaching the social sciences - more specifically- World Civilization and Social Institutions.

A Little Bit About Me...

I earned both my Bachelor's of Arts in English and my Master's of Science in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, I served as the Assistant to the Graduate Reader as a graduate student, where my job was to proof graduate and Ph.D. students' theses and dissertations. This job, in particular, helped me become extremely familiar with APA and MLA formatting, as well as everyday grammar and word usage. I also took a number of education classes while persuing my Bachelor's degree.
I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. A Little Bit About Me...

During my education at Alcorn, I have helped a myriad of my colleagues with papers, historical facts, and a general/detail understanding of a given historical topic. I would routinely do this three to four times a week. This opportunity helped to expand my knowledge and expound the students.
My teaching style is to merge technology, current events, and thought provoking question into one. I related the given subject to the student as best as I can. This makes the subject personal and it makes the information easy to retain.
