A Little Bit About Me...

As a typically destitute college student, I chose to supplement my income with the knowledge I knew best. This covered non-biological sciences and mathematics, as well as conversational Spanish and English literary composition up to the sophomore college level, Over the last five years, though the three years of my undergraduate education were the most busy, both peers and high school students took advantage of my services.
Post-pubescent persons have a great capacity to learn abstract material; all that is necessary to open that potential is to motivate them. I do not specialize in that motivation. I do, however, excel at taking a puzzled student and explaining the difficult material in a way that makes sense to him or her. Mnemonic devices, simplifications, and advanced tools contribute to progress for any student of mine.

I firmly believe ALL children can learn, but not everyone learns in the same way. I do my best to make a positive difference in their lives. I'm very patient and always listen to my students. I give my students tips to help them learn something and get them to repeat information back to me as we work so I know they understand. I give immediate feedback while working with my students and, when working one-on-one or in small groups, I will sit down and work side-by-side with them. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience includes two years of full time teaching at the PreK level. I also have experience working with grade level students through practicums, student teaching, and substitute teaching. I have assisted teachers with middle school students during a summer technical program as well. I currently hold a M.S. in Education specializing at the Elementary grade levels. I also have a B.F.A. in Photography with a minor in Journalism.
My teaching style varies depending on the needs of each student. Because students learn in different ways, I feel it is important to start with a basic teaching method and evolve from there for each individual child and his or her level of learning. I feel that motivation goes a long way and that students should feel rewarded for any level of progress they accomplish.
