I am a recent graduate of Drury University. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Cum Laude. I have been tutoring mostly college students for the last 2 years, while in school. I specialize in Algebra, but have the ability to help with any type of math class. In addition to college students, I have also helped elementary students.

My teaching style is probably best suited to high school and college students. Although I successfully helped my own 3 children through their elementary school, high school and college years, my tutoring experience has been with older students. My wife is a Montessori trained teacher so I have absorbed that method for tutoring. Each student must be viewed as an individual to define the areas of weakness and fill them in. I enjoy teaching. Working with a student one-to-one or even in small groups allows a student to have their individual needs met. Tutoring has the advantage of catching the student where they are struggling to comprehend. I am patient, creative, and prefer to model examples for my students. I believe that a strong foundation in the basics will help a student grasp more difficult concepts. My favorite venue is the use of a dry erase board and having the student model back an example to evaluate if they understood the concepts or the steps to the solution.
