I have had prior experience in helping or educating children/ people when I worked at Ripleys Aquarium as an Educator and also occasionally helped in Kids Club by helping children with homework and other questions and help they seeked. I have always been a caring person and love working with children in any way possible.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have over 21 years of experience in law enforcement. In each of those years I was required to instruct others in numerous subjects. Those years gave me a sense of discipline and motivation which I applied to my students learning experiences. During my lifetime, I have experienced a wide variety of professional exposures, and I did my best to master each one. This gives me a tremendously broad base of practical knowledge to impart to others. Currently, I am an adjunct professor for basic law enforcement training at Brunswick Community College in Supply, NC.
I have learned several teaching techniques, but the one that I prefer is the military training style. I tell them what I am going to teach, then I teach them, and then I tell them what I taught them. I really enjoy hands on learning/teaching style. I think students learn better by doing, though learning to take better notes helps with being able to do more hands on. I have always liked working with students, and have taken some education courses. I think it is very important to make learning more fun.
I graduated Cum Laude, in English literature. I have always done well in English, and have always enjoyed reading and writing. I was a member of STD, the English Honors Society, and loved helping out with various events. I have privately tutored middle and elementary school students, in which they all received better grades than the year before.
